Blaire Without Borders

Tales from a Broad Abroad

Hi! I’m Blaire.

Welcome to Blaire Without Borders.

I’m a wanderer, wife, mom to two curious little humans, entrepreneur, and, most recently, a houseless blogger. Nice to meet you!

After years of squeezing adventures into vacation days and wondering what it would be like to live in some of the countries we’ve visitied, my family decided to do something a little different. We packed up our life, put our belongings into storage, and traded one permanent address for many temporary ones.

For the next year, home isn’t a house—it’s wherever we happen to unpack.

This blog is intended to document our experience only and I know for sure that we will miss some things along the way. I just wanted a place to let our friends know what we’re up to and remember the moments that make up everyday life around the world. I’ll talk about finding the neighborhood bakery, navigating grocery stores where we can’t read the labels, watching our kids make friends despite not speaking the language, figuring out buses and trains, discovering favorite parks, hiking mountain trails, and learning what it feels like to settle into a place before moving on to the next.

I’ll also share the practical side of slow travel—our itineraries, family-friendly neighborhoods, apartment reviews, transportation tips, budgeting, and the little things I wish I’d known before we arrived. Not because I think everyone should travel this way, but because if you’re curious about a destination, I hope our experience helps you decide one way or another what’s right for you.

Fair warning: I have a healthy dose of sarcasm and this is definitely not going to be a perfectly curated highlight reel. You can expect honest stories, embarrassing moments, questionable parenting decisions that somehow worked out, and hopefully more laughs than tears.

Whether you’re here because you love travel, you’re dreaming about a destination, or my mom sent you the link and you had some free time, I’m so glad you stopped by. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

Welcome!
